Let us look into the concept of “transdiscipline”.
We can classify all human knowledge by various principles. For example, you know of the existence of natural sciences and humanities. This is one of the principles of theories division.
However, there are others. Here is another principle of theories division - relation of a transdiscipline and a discipline. One theory can be a discipline, and the other - a transdiscipline in relation to it.
Transdisciplines set general concepts and principles, used in corresponding disciplines. For example, mathematics is a transdiscipline for physics, chemistry, biology and many other disciplines, in which mathematical language is used.
Systems thinking is the transdiscipline for such disciplines as entrepreneurship, engineering and management. Concepts of systems thinking simplify understanding of entrepreneurship theories, engineering and management disciplines.
Transdisciplines and disciplines relation explains the necessity of intellect-stack. Knowing transdisciplines, one can master disciplines faster and with better quality. Before the 21st century, the division was like this: in the first part of life, a person was mainly getting fundamental knowledge, and for the rest of life focused on applied mastery. However, in the 21st century we may not rely on one profession. Moreover, fundamental sciences changed dramatically. This is why a modern person will simultaneously have to flash the intellect and develop applied mastery. It is possible, that fundamental knowledge will have to be upgraded several times during one’s life, every 5-10 years.
