This week we have released our course on Systems Engineering as a fundamental normative practice aimed at making the world a better place. This course is significantly different from similar courses, let’s say, five years ago, as it is based on the third generation of systems thinking ([2310.11524] Toward an Ontology for Third Generation Systems Thinking), which forms the foundation of systems engineering. Therefore, the course describes both scale-free engineering (independent of system scale, whether it’s a substance, substance with a computer, creature, personality, organization, community, society, or humanity) and continuous engineering (which means not limited to deploying a single version of the system-of-interest but involves the development/evolution of the system during techno-evolution).
The course is designed for engineers, managers, entrepreneurs, education professionals, policymakers, and others - all those who are changing the world and want to do it as effectively as engineers who manage to send rockets to Mars and pack a phone with a bank card and a television. The course consists of four main chapters: 1. Continuous Scale-free Systems Engineering. 2. Continuous Development. 3. Continuous Architecture Decision Making. 4. Continuous Delivery (DevOps).
